THE MEES FAMILY

The Mees Estate is located in Bosenheim, in the southeast of Bad Kreuznach an der Nahe, a climatically well-known spa town. Our wine-growing region is called Nahe, it is close to the wine-growing region Rheinhessen.

Concerning the varieties of locally grown quality wines, the wine region Nahe is also well-known as "the jewel in the southwest." Weingut Mees has been run by our family since 1828.

In 2003 master vintners Roland Mees and Dagmar Mees took over the family winery and steered towards quality-optimizing self-marketing.

In 2020, son Lukas successfully completed the master’s examination at the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Agriculture and since then, together with the parents in the seventh and eighth generation, has been very committed and successful indoor and outdoor operation.

Daughter Juliane, a High-School teacher, still enjoys helping with the winery in her spare time. She represented the wine growing region as "Nahe Wine Princess 2013/2014".

The product "wine" itself is essential to our efforts. Professional knowledge and experience, yield reduction and the employment of modern winegrowing- and winery-technologies, quality-oriented manual work, steady training and development and most importantly: - our love for great wines - those are our conditions for the production of modern, high-class, aromatic and storable estate wines.

We grow our high- and special-quality wines according to grape variety standards, vineyard site standards and vintage standards, with a high level of quality orientation. We are looking forward to your interest in our quality products and will be glad to answer your questions.
